A few weeks ago, I was in a conversation, where the topic of failures and starting fresh came up, and lots of people agreed that the most admirable people are those, who can start from zero and navigate their way to success after having been through a rough time.
Some time ago I went to a lecture, and it was surprising to see that compared to other similar events, which would normally have around 60-100 participants, this topic attracted a crowd of at least 250.
I was surprised, because the topic is not one that we talk about too often and definitely not something we admit to being affected by.
I know there could be a number of reasons why we start hating our jobs. Too much overtime, the boss is difficult, the pay is low, lame colleagues and the list could go on and on.
However, there’s a reason less talked about.
Years ago, whenever I went to visit someone, I used to buy several gifts for friends and family. They often said it was too much, and totally unnecessary.
Until a time came in my life, when I had to spend less, and consciously watch what my income would be able to cover.
My very first coach always said, with sincere regret in her eyes, that there are no quick-fixes, fast solutions to change stuff that we’d been struggling with for a while. No quick-fixes, I mean it.
